Oh yeah!!! I am in Amsterdam and there is no way I can be wrong about that. From the fact that all the options for accessing my blog were shown in dutch. Advertisement shown on the right side of the websites are referred to Holland and are written in dutch. People speaks in a language that for me sounds a little bit like german, but that I dont understand at all anyways. All the girls are white and pretty. I am in Amsterdam!!! Although just inside the airport, and for some hours, but I am already here and once this trip began there is no other way to just continue until the end no matters what happens.

So difficult to believe that just yesterday I was at the airport in Lima. The flight was really fast for me. The 12 hours we were on the air I could resume them like this : I watched a complete movie (Harry Potter 7 - Part 2), I slept and ate, slept and ate, and like this in a repeating way since my memory just remembers me loading down the table for the flight hostess to put something to eat or drink on it. When I finally really woke up there was 1 hours and a half left for arriving to Amsterdam based on what the flight tracking screen was saying. But that same screen was showing us flying over London. That is another proof that in Europe everything is so close. The only thing I had to do in that time was playing on the interactive screen and admire at the flight hostess, that indeed was white and pretty. (haha)

Schiphol airport in Amsterdam is of a higher level than any other airport I have ever visited. First thing to highlight, and to smash it on the face of Lima airport, is that here we have good quality free Wi-Fi internet access in the whole airport area. Although it is just free two times for 30 minutes each time, but so far is the average time a common person spend in the airport wiating. Since I am not a common person, I am spending a lot more than 1 hour waiting here. I am doing an transfer to take another flight to Abu Dhabi, which will depart more than 12 hours later.

I didnt take the risk to go and adventure in Amsterdam city because I was told they were having problems with the train system, and for passing by migration area for going out and then for coming in again the next day early in the morning, Id rather staying here and rest. And this airport is so well design that they even have a public resting area, with comfty large resting leather chairs, open to every traveler for resting in an almost horizontal position. And you have a smooth and quiet music as background to get totally relaxed. And as public and relaxing as it seems, there is always the drunkie that can disturb anytime anywhere. In this case the drunkie was a girl, that had to be taken into this area for resting forced by the police men pulling her away from the bar and the alcohol, aparently she had had some problems at the bar. The only way she got quiet seated was under the warning of getting into kail if she didnt stay there. A minute later she was sleeping and snoring like if anything had happened.

Some things to take into consideration when visiting this airport in Amsterdam. The power socket outlets are different !!!!! Before travelling get those universal adaptors for any kind of sockets. Police men go around the airport on wheels, not on bikes, but in those electrical scooters, where they just go standing. Few restaurants are open 24hrs, so try not to spend a night in this airport, of get something to eat before 10 pm that is when most restaurants close, or keep looking harder for finding an open pleace after midnight.

And some other things to take into consideration when going to the International airport in Lima. Go with confty clothes, it means any kind of skechers (or any shoes that may not have any metallic component). Neckless, watches, rings, cellphones and coins (or any similar belonging) keep them in your backpack or handbag before passing the metal detector (obvious of course). That way you help your self for avoiding gettings undresses and dressed right there, you would only need to place you handbag on one side and walk through the detector, then pick up your bag and continue your way, for getting dressed quietly in the boarding area, for example. That way you also help other people that may be on hurry, since the slowest point is always in the metallic detectors since there is people that has to pass like three times, for every metallic thing that forgot to take out. If you plan to get into the boarding area like three hours before your departure, eat something outside before, because inside everything is too stupidly expensive !!!!!! One bottle of wat is 5 soles (like 2 dollars!!!!).

___________________________________________________________________

Sometimes it takes longer time to realize why someone does or ommits some things in this life. But i think that after so many year auto analizing myself, I have finally landed to a great conclusion this past weekend, about the reason why I manage my life the way I have been doing until now.

It is simple: I DONT LIKE DRAMAS. Since many years ago I run away from everything or everybody that may provoke or lives surrounded by dramas. I can hold listening about them, but for that same reason that I am usually told about many dramas, I concluded that I live better without them.

Living without dramas means living with less worries, or in better words, it means learning how to identify every thing that may bring drama/stress and prepare all so that the final effect is reduced. This doesnt mean that I am running away from responsibilities, because I think that what I have become nowadays is the best proof that I am a responsable enough. Overall, I think that it is about knowing how to manage your responsibilities, and this takes you to knowing how to manage your capabilities, and hot to manage your time, and knowing hot to appreciate your health and life style.

Living from dramas and stressed, may give you lots of "interesting" stories for telling in a future, but it is not healthy at all living stressed because of the dramas that can be avoided in this life. And you can find dramatic situations in every aspect of this life. We can not control everything in this world, so for being able to manage the dramatic situations, we need to first identify them and then be ready for being able to control what can be controlled.

While you begin collecting experiences, while you get older, you are knowing more and more people, and witness to more and different situations (television and internet also count for this) and all these will finally help you build an ideal criteria for identifying the risky situations, the opportunities, and dramatic and stressful situations, as well as the happy situations.

When writing about "being ready", I refer to "being professional prepared". Being a professional at something will give you more tools for facing this life, and lots of confidence on yourself. And with all that new acquisitions you get to a point in your life when you feel and know that are able of modifying lots of things up to your convenience. (Another challenge is to change things for your convenience and at the same time for the convenience of other people, so that you are not the only favoured.

With all these tools you identify what you can modify because you know you have the capability to modify it. And with this you prepare the land for those things you already know that could bring you problems/drama/stress. And it all finally comes by its own weight, in a chain of positive consequences. You can even get to the point in which you realize that without wanting you count with a good plan B and/or plan C, for anything that may not go under the plan. And all, including plan B and C, can be prepared and managed without stressing, without dramas.

I think all the previously explained can be obtained by pushing hard and giving our best effort in everything, because we all were not born so analytic nor meticulous. But there is another big challenge, with will conclude in happiness instead of dramas.

And without dramas, but after lots of words and sentences that may have been difficult to understand and that I dont really know where all came from, I can formally tell you that I am about to begin a new tripping adventure around this world in which all we walk and breath everyday.

Since many years ago I define as a life goal to know as much as possible of this planet, and like this step by step I am building this project. I am going far away from home, and I dont know how everyday will be while traveling, but I promise not to get stressed, and instead of gaining dramas, I will acquire stories full of happinness. There might be things that will go apart from the plan, but I will have to bring a smiley face in those cases.

Before falling into any drama, Id better say good bye, and I hope to get some time to update this blog in between so much trips.

Luego conocí a Pablo. Gran tipo.

María, algún dúa fundaré Burnilux, y tú serás gerenta, no secretaria.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

This could sound crazy, and It might have something of irony, but this is an attempt for going back to the real life. For trying live the life how it used to be lived before all the technology, although “ironically” I am here, writing it down in a web site from my Laptop. But let´s consider that a Blog nowadays takes the roll of what your “diary” used to be back in the “happy years”.

For those that used to have a “diary” in their childhood, for sure a good feeling might have electrocuted as soon as you remembered what you used to write on it, and some of you might have felt invaded by the feeling of curiosity to look for it right now in the very lost places of your houses. I don’t get angry if because of that you have impolitely gone away from the computer and left my blog behind… I would have done the same. But I do know where my diary is. That diary that was given to me when I was around 8 years old, in which I only wrote one only page, the one I felt embarrassed of years later (no reason) and took it out and threw it away. It might have happened when I realized that a personal diary wouldn’t be totally personal as long as it would be kept at any place of your parent’s house without possibility to lock. Now that diary has a different use, I have taken account of all the economical debts I have had until now and that fortunately I have been paying successfully.

So the diary we had used to save all our secrets. It once also saved all the postcards or birthday cards that my uncles and aunts sent from the US, but since they never stopped sending until now, they are so many now that I need to save them separately. It is incredible how my uncles/aunts from the US have kept that nice custom of sending cards through the post service until now, and it was for every birthday, Christmas or special date. That is something I began copying no longer than a year ago. The post service in Peru is more expensive than in the US. Although that is not a valid excuse since there is always the chance to make an effort, but now that I have a permanent job I feel that it is not a sacrifice anymore so I can have that privilege of sending small gifts to people that live away, abroad Peru.

The emotion when receiving a long and detailed email is huge, even more if it comes from someone you love or miss or haven´t known about in long time. But It is much bigger the emotion felt when hearing your door bell ring and realizing something is being delivered to you (a package or a present). Ask yourself, when was the last time you sent something through the post service? Nowadays we accumulate friendships through the social networks. And like this we get lots of “friends”, better named as “contacts” (although some of them may turn into real friends). Years ago, there was the PenPal system, which would let you choose someone from a huge data base of people around the world to begin sending written letters, through post mail obviously, and like this, month after month (or depending on the distance between the countries) you were receiving/sending something, and that magical feeling as still alive. You were able to begin knowing the world through the words and picture that somebody else would send you. Now, you have all your contacts online (reachable) all the time, which is awesome. You know about them every time they change their mood, every time they publish a picture, every time they update their status, etc, and all these thanks to Facebook (main inspiration of this post). Now everything is so interactive that I think the social networks have absorbed us, and we have just let them do it.

I am not going to criticize what each of you do or publish in your Facebook, since once i read somewhere this : “This is my Facebook and I do whatever I want to do”… What a huge example of the freedom of thoughts and expression that we have with the social networks. But I think that before unconsciously getting into this new parallel world, they should have warned us that we would begin leaving behind values and actions that are better and only felt in the real life. I think that they should have done a manual of how not to let yourself get sucked by Facebook.

Some examples:

- It is not enough to wish happy birthday by posting a comment on his/her wall.

- If you are really thankful, it is not enough to just express it through a comment on his/her wall.

- A formal personal invitation is not so personal when doing through Facebook. I have seen that some people upload a picture of their wedding invitation card (a general one, no name printed on it) and then they tag all the people they want to invite.

And I am sure you can point out more examples like these if you ever noticed something that shouldn’t be done through the social networks. For all the rest, they are super cool. They have helped me keep a track of the society, since I work in remote places most of the time. But even like this, I think that instead of getting people closer, they are separating people. I am sure that your friends are going to value even more if you call them for their birthdays, and not only write a comment in their walls, a similar comment like the rest of their contacts. And I am not being resentful; of course I am not, since I am conscious that I cannot receive phone calls where I work. I am writing in general terms. Even a well written email, with just few lines can have more value than a simple “hello” or “thanks” dropped in your wall, in the situation that you cannot visit or call that person. I am conscious that these last lines were written from my personal point of view, so there might be people that agree with me and other that might not, and also those that might be analyzing the situation. I hope these last ones finally agree with me.
Do you remember how it was when you were at school? (for those that were born in the 80´s). Back then, when you wanted to know what was coming in the exam of the following day, you would call your best friend or either the most intelligent one of the class, and finally you would stay chatting (the original meaning of it) about other things. When you wanted to tell somebody about a party, you would call him/her and obviously then you would stay chatting about other silly things. When you wanted to talk about anything to the person you liked, just for the fact of listening to his/her voice, then you would have to call him/her. It is now funny to remember that since in those years cellphones were not so popular as now, you would have to be ready of facing the fact of begin talking with his/her parents when picking up the home phone.

And with all those things we don’t do anymore, many feelings we used to feel disappeared, as well as moments we don’t face anymore. Life has become easier somehow, but at the same time a little bit emptier since we are letting technology take part of our lives without noticing it.

There is a lot to write about this topic, but I have written longer than accepted one more time as usual, and in this new world where everything got to be “twits”, i know that there might have be some that quit reading this post on the first lines. Fortunately there is still people that enjoy reading about the life or thoughts of their friends, even if it means reading long texts like this one. Here I write as much as I want because THIS IS MY BLOG, but I swear I am learning to be punctual when writing emails.

I want to thank my mentee for helping in the brainstorming of this old thoughts from years ago BF (before Facebook)

PD: I have just remembered that when I was in the last year of high school (back in year 2000), some of my class were taken to the other building of the school, which is located in a different district. So we attended special classes in the other building for some weeks, with new people. Those special classes were for providing us specific knowledge to get ready for the entrance exam of a known university in town. Due to the distance between our original building and the new one, communication with our friends of always was being affected too. But we found a way to keep communication beside the distance. I remember that we would send letters, but I am not totally sure if we would send them through our teachers (that they were teaching in both buildings) or if it was through our siblings. But all those obstacles would make friendship more challenging and interesting.

Did I ever mention anything about the evil Blackberry ? That demon deserves a dedicated post.

____________________________________________________________________________________

It is really hard to let go away the "trainee lifestyle", many reasons my friends from spain had to envy me. "I wish to have the privileges a trainee has", they would say. It has been six months and some days that i finished my internship in Spain. In that country, people who does internships are called "becarios", and it is really true that you get lots of priveleges being a "becario". And one of the things i have been missing most is doing a real adventure grupal trip.

Here in Lima i dont have the "trainee lifestyle", saddly having a real work kicks me out of that selective category. So, without noticing, seems like i mentalized myself and stop considering the possibility of trying, at least, to do the adventure trips custom. I used the excuses that it was not as easy in Perú as it was in Spain, or maybe that I didnt have time nor money, etc etc , cheap and unreasonable excuses.

With the arrival of the trainess (called "Becarios" in Spain, and "Practicantes" in Perú) the adventure spirit came too, the IAESTE spirit. I had to prove that my excuses were totally cheap and had no foundation, and I first convinced myself that a trip to the south of Lima, during the long holiday weekend, was the best opportunity considerinig i would have the company of the trainees and they would go with their adventure spirit, all the IAESTE spirit.

That is how with no so much planification, just a reservation in a hotel for our first night out of Lima, we decided to begin our IAESTE style Peruvian-National-Holidays Trip. The team was composed by: Ilona (Switzerland), Julissa (Perú), Sebastien (Perú), Simón (Switzerland), Grzegorz-Greg- (Poland) and I.

Saturday July 25th , 2009

The meeting point was the Soyuz company bus station on Mexico Avenue. The meeting time agreed was at 6 am, being almost all of us punctual, being Julissa the only exception, arriving to the sation 40 minutes later. Fortunately, for her, the tickets could be bought at the moment since the buses depart every 10 minutes, besides that we had considered a delay of that kind from the very beginning, and lucky her that we were are still really patient since the trip was just beginning. With no breakfast (at least me) and the others with a quick-small attempt of breakfast, we all left Lima and its foggy weather behind.

We arrived to Chincha at 10 am, really hungry, went straight to have a real breakfast to " El Café de la Nonna" restaurant, a place of my friend Martha. Everything was good, we were all happy, and after that went to the hotel "Princess" which was just on the corner of the restaurant, everything was really close.
At midday we went to Sunampe, since we have read before that there was going to be the "Festival del Pisco y la Cachina" (Pisco & Cachina festival), but we didn`t considered that even though the advertisement said it was a full day festival, it was planned to be a night event. When we arrived there, it was midday, there were some games for kids already installed including the fusball tables and the trampoline.
It is easy to deduced what we did, we didn`t too many options, so we organized our small fusball championship in a table which made the games harder since it was in really bad conditions, but at least it worked to keep us busy for at least an hour. That small fusball championship, having Simon and Ilona as winners, made us hungry, and so we began looking for the best restaurant around.
Asking to people we were told about the country restaurant "La Chacra del Abuelo" ("Granpa`s farm" or something like that). It was a place which is three blocks about from the small main square, walking on a ground path, straight until you reach a irrigation ditch, then turn left (there is huge sign with the name of the restaurant).

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmECupwldVuyoJcJc5elIIEu6JVgOXX412N_RAn4OgGEsmKXlwca_Knhc49dqqxL0PzAMBZnoe4kEeuRZLfz1CXQ9dwgtB52hV-UQfg15Iot1kTK2AFMy5TQdCvUw_Gy-pvJNAOTSKU8A/s320/Imagen+035.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371904055974317570" />Just before we would go through a gang of horses, cows and some other animals, we got into a lot and found the restaurant. There were eight tables in an open place, next to a vineyard, from where some of its plants had grown over the supports and where working as a roof to give us some shadow.
After the desgutation of Cachina, we decided to order a jar of Dry Cachina, while our dishes were being prepared: Arroz con Pato (Duck with rice), Sopa Seca con Carapulcra (hard to translate, it is something prepared with dry potates and some spaghetties, you must come to try it), and some others. The food was really tasty and we ate a lot, it was the main why we went to Chincha.

While we were having our lunch, the guy who was working as a waiter reached us a magazine which had all the businesses and entertainment places of the area, and we got interested about a place with a ATV`s circuit (four-wheelers). We all agreed that it was a nice choice to spend some time there and wait until the evening to go to El Carmen.

The ATVs were quiet big and the circuit was medium size, on ground with some bumps. It was 2.50 soles for four rounds (less than 1 US dollar), it was really cheap. Then we began with the speed and the adrenaline. For some of us it didnt take too much time to learn how to drive, speed and break the ATVs, reaching even the third speed. In one of my rounds i had to drive out the circuit, because if i had tried to go back for sure i would have fallen on the ground, but that was not the riskiest round of that afternoon. Grzegorz, polish guy, who from the very beginning was the most excited about the ATVs, got a good speed really quick. He was driving many rounds without taking a break, and it was noticeable that he was enjoying it. But in what became his lust turn, he didn't low his speed, and got too close to the wall. His right front wheel crashed straight with one of the columns of the wall. The columns were wider than the wall, that is why it was almot a frontal crash.

The ATV finished heading the opposite direction of the road, fortunately with the wheels on the ground. Greg never released the drive wheel, which saved him from a really bad accident, since his face got really close to the wall. His hand finished swallow and he had a small scratch in his stomach. The ATV was useless, its sterring was broken. It was the end of the fun. And they were just charging us 30 soles for the use of the ATV for an hour and a half. We were lucky that they didn't want to charge anything for the broken ATV.

The accident made us change our minds to the idea that it was better to stay in the city to rest, cancelin our visit to El Carmen, because we had to wake up really early the following day to take a bus and go to Paracas. We had an international dinner (hamburguers and similar stuffs) and then we went all to rest.

______________________________________________________________________________

I have just arrived home, today is saturday june 20th, it is 2:36 am. I was having some drinks in a bar with some friends, we all got together to say bye to a friend of IAESTE, Javier, who is traveling this weekend. There were many exchange guys (IAESTE is the International Assciation for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience, mainly for engineering students, that is how i traveled to Spain last year) and there were Claudia and Karen too, two of the friends i meet in Idaho-USA, who suddenly join us after a quick coordination through phone calls.

I went back home quiet early, even though the party was getting better and even though there were more and more foreigners in our group. I have said before that I am trying to concentrate in my thesis, and as an example of this commitment with myself I have to rest very well every night to be able and take the advantage of every minute during the day light to read or write part of my thesis.

As soon as I went out of the discotheque, beside it was 1:30 am, fortunately a bus to my home was coming and without any doubt I caught it. I knew it was a long but quick trip, and I didn’t have anything else to get distracted with but with I could see through the windows in the streets. And that is how I got the main idea to write this new post : the street vendors, especially the ones working at night.

Those that are standing in the corners close to the discotheques (the ideal and profitable ones) along the night. Those that have a modified stroller or a small folding table full of cigarettes, lollipops, bubble gums, candies, cookies and snacks. (If I am missing anything please feel free to add it through a comment). Those that save from hunger to many people that go out from the parties, and that without claiming finally pay a double price for those things considering the time.

Immediately memories from my days in Spain came to my head. The characteristic street vendors in Madrid were Asiatic (Chinese or Japanese, It is difficult to say and differentiate). They were really opportunist in the good way. On sunny days they all would sell cheap sun glasses. On rainy days, they all would sell cheap umbrellas. At nights, they all would sell cans of beer or cigarettes, and some would sell rice with some meat or chicken, something like a small dinner for people the starving people going out from the bars. I can`t deny they are really hardworking people.

The other characteristic street vendors are the Africans (I don’t really know which country most of them are from). But I can tell that most of them sell pirate cd’s and dvd’s. I think I have mentioned in an old post how ingenious they are to stand in any place and be able to run away as soon as they know about the cops coming for them.
They had a small square tablecloth, and thin ropes were tied to each of the four corners and all of them were tied together in a relative center point, becoming a unique long rope that was always hanging from their hands. The discs were all placed in a ordered way on the tablecloth, and they just needed to pull up from the rope they had in their hands, so all the disc would stay inside the cloth like if it were a sack.

In Barcelona the characteristic street vendors were the “moros” ( most of them morocco people) who are walking around the parks and plazas where people usually go to drink and do what they call “botellon” (drinking anything in the streets or any place but a bar or disco), so this “moros” are offering cerveza-beer (they offer it in the two languages) and also cigarettes. They are also chased by the cops, and in order to not to be caught they are capable to leave they merchandise (cans of beer) to you and run away, so in case they are caught the cops can’t put them in jail because there are no evidences of them selling in the streets. So when the cops are gone they come back and pick up their merchandise, just making a gesture of gratitude in case you didn’t drink it or went away with it.

People from other countries don’t come to Peru looking for a job or to sell in the streets. Our street vendors are Peruvians, honest people who make some money to go on in their lives or just to survive in it.
It was good to see and chat with Claudia and Karen again, and best wishes to Javier in this new adventure he is just beginning.

__________________________________________________________________________

Right now anybody can deny that Peru is suffering the worldwide economical crisis. And if we add to the strikes, protest marches, massacres, and the disgraceful campaign we had during the soccer eliminations, it wouldn’t be weird to listen to more than one person saying that they feel ashamed or Peru.

Each of the topics I mentioned in the previous paragraph, deserve their own post. And the importance and seriousness of each of them force me to read more about so I can finally write something at the same level of the topic. I promise it will happen soon.

Today I want to write something short, as a way to relive my blog, since I haven’t written here a couple of months ago because of lack of inspiration, lack of time, and for being focused in other things.

Beside all the sad and bad things this country is passing by, today a small detail make me notice that there are people and companies who are working hard in their areas to help the development of Peru, so it can be a better country.

In the last months I haven’t been going out home that much, I have been working and doing my thesis from the computer at home. But today I had to go to Camacho (more than 1 hour away from home by bus) to see something for my thesis.

There is nobody in Lima that can confirm that transportation in this city is a total chaos. But, for those who haven’t noticed it yet, there are some public transportation companies that are investing some money to give us a better service. I can mention some of them like TransLima, Chama, and Consorcio Vía (Road Consortium). I got a surprise from the last guys.

For those who doesn’t know that i am talking about or who doesn’t live in Lima, Conrsorcio Vía (Road Consortium) (also known as DAEWOO buses because their first buses were from that branch and because they used to have a huge advertisement of it on each side of them. Big white buses that go along Javier Prado Avenue and Universitaria Avenue, to mention the main ones), since some months ago, has been buying new buses similar to the ones that are already on road.

I will begin telling you that some of these buses have television, they just stop in forma bus stops (which means they go faster since they don’t lose time stopping in each corner trying to get more and more people), almost all the drivers make passenger load from the front door and unload from the back door, which let passenger have an order and have a comfortable trip.

That is how today, on my way back home, after having traveled almost an hour comfortably seated (I slept most of the way), when the bus was reaching my bus stop I rang the bell of the back door. (ohhh, yes, that is another novelty, I think it is the only bus company that has a bell in the back door to let the driver know to stop in the closest bus stop). But since in the bus stop there was a lot of people who wanted to load the bus, and since we are in Lima were for sure the 99% of that people was thinking about the possibility to load from the back door to avoid paying the bus ticket, well because of that, is that my door didn’t open immediately. And the surprise came when the driver talked to me through the speakers of the bus, telling me to please wait until everybody loads and pays for their ticket.

It didn’t just surprise me, but to all who got to notice that the driver had the capability (a microphone) to communicate with the passengers without the necessity to shout at them.

As he promised, after everybody loaded, and after noticing that there was nobody suspicious to load from the back door, he opened it and let me unload the bus.
This is one of the few examples, sadly, that show that Peru is going forward. But in this example it is because of a private company. I wish I could tell that it is going forward thanks to the current government, but even though the economical numbers as on blue (approved), the attitude that the government has shown in the last days, doesn’t let me give it any kind of praise.

For those who live abroad, I hope you could notice the emotion that something apparently insignificant or common in other countries, caused to me by experiencing it here.

For those who live in Lima, I am not doing any kind of advertisement, but i think that loading this kind of buses, we are helping to the improvement of the public transportation in our city. We have the capability to such which bus to load and which not.

Un lugar donde he llorado y he reído varias veces.

Salud!!
___________________________________________________________________

Something inside me is telling me i should share this place with any of you, since it is really a big luck to know such a beautiful place and wonderful people.
And I went there last week to rest a little bit more, to enjoy the carnivals, and some other parties and to meet myself

The Beach was more beautiful than ever. And people came from everywhere to take part in the Carnival celebrations. The party began on Friday and didn’t finish until Monday, I think so.

I am writing about a hidden place in the Northern part of Peru. With a really clean beach, as a result of the hard work of the residents, and incredible waves to surf

A place where you can go hiking in groups between the rocks and to the continuing beaches, or sale on a big boat close to an island and swimming in other to get to its white sand beach.

A place where everybody is more than a friend, everybody knows each other, and everybody welcomes you with a hug.

A place where i used to go a lot since i was a baby, where i used to spend my whole summers when I was a kid, where I had my summer gang to spend the four months of school vacations, where I went year after year until I turned 13. Then I missed it for some summers, and I thought people wouldn’t remember me, and I was suffering because time was making me forget. But I was wrong, and this last summer I proved it, I never lost those friends, and even know I feel friendship is stronger than ever. That is how they made me feel.

A place where because of some wonders of life, the sun, the heat and the beach; you can sit and drink beer (or any cold drink) for hours and hours. It is proven that you can just feel that you are drunk, where the alcohol is over.

A place where parties have a different taste and are enjoyed in a very different way.
A place where you can dance barefoot and where people get dressed as big babies to be part of the carnivals.

A place where i have cried and laughed so many times. A place where I have been able to know myself a little bit more and I think in really important aspects.

First, if we are ever in a party or reunion, quiet drunk, having been drinking for many hours, please do not hug me to tell me happy or sad things. Do not hug me when I am drunk because then I cry easily, and I don’t like crying.

Second, i have proved that i fall in love easily in the middle of a really good dancing. A girl that knows how to dance and with a beautiful smile are basic elements to shock me.

Third, i think it is part of my nature, but in most cases I can let my happiness go away to see others being happy. It has happened many times; many times I have regretted right after it happened, but some minutes after I felt happy when I saw the rest happy. Is it something good or something bad? Some day I will have the chance to take advantage of the opportunity of happiness that are given to me, I hope nobody would have to be unhappy so I can get my happiness, but maybe in our life we have to play both rolls some time.

That magic place, where i have wonderful family, where my cousins are like my Brothers, and my uncles and aunts treat me as a son, and where grandma is the center of all of us.

A place where I feel I found twin souls. A place to which I have to life away most part of the year, but to where I do my best effort to go at least once a year, specially for the carnivals.

And since I like seeing you all happy, my nature doesn’t let me selfish and to keep the name of this place in secret.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As days pass, i am readapting more to Lima. This weekend i went with my mom to a bbq party of some of her old friends, friends from university.

The food was really good, the neighborhood really nice and quiet, and the Pisco Sour the best always. There were the Chicha Morada and the beer as really good alternatives.

The afternoon passed while people was eating, drinking and chatting, the nigth arrived but the hot weather remained. The ladies didnt want to go home without having danced at least a little bit. They began with the most sounded music now in Peru: the Cumbia, and then they played and dance music from their young years.

Obviously, i was not an important member in such party and the music didn't help me a lot, so i just sat on a side to watch them and then i began noticing something really interesting.
Will i and my friends, after our fifties, will still get together and dance in a big circle "our" music ? I mean, all of us in a round dancing reggaeton or hip hop?.
I need to remark that here in Peru, we are used to dance in couples, cause it is more interesting in couples , hoho. Will we have the same kind of fun??

I hope we will still get together to make a "good" bbq, it has to bee good then we would have years of experience making bbq, not like now. But, Will we drink the famous drinks in 30 years, or will we look for "our" drinks?. Ohhh , for sure beer will always be present. How would we do about music? Even right now, cds are almost part of the past. Will each of us bring our own "usb memory" or modern drive, with our music and will plug it into a stereo that may not have cassette or cd readers ??

What will our kids think about seeing us dancing in a round the music we think is "cool" or "nice"?
Will we still celebrate Pisco Day around these days of february?
At least i hope, we will all be healthy and with energies, so that in 30 years, we could write an answer to this post.

This is the music my mom and her friends listen to

Esta es la música que nosotros escuchamos ahora/ This is the music we listen to now.

Me equivoqué.

_______________________________________________________________

I hope you can locate when the story I am about to tell happened. I was almost a whole week with my family in Tucson and they have just dropped me at the airport to take my flight to Los Angeles. We are on December and winter season has just begun. This means that there are more and more snow storms, but not exactly in Tucson.
My plane is coming from Las Vegas where is snowing a lot and because of that mi flight has 2 hours of delay.
I am in the boarding room, no way to communicate with any of my relatives to let them know about the delay since I don’t have a cell phone. I didn’t buy one because I thought it was not going to be useful for just a month. I was wrong.

In the bench in front of me, to the right side there is a teenager boy reading a Harry Potter’s book; on the left side of the same bench there are two Californian girls (I know that because I listened it from their conversation), but these girls doesn’t let me have a nice view of an old man seating at the last bench of the room. This sir looks as Santa Claus; he has the red Christmas hat and has the nice white beard, which helps him a lot in order to look the like Santa we all have in our minds. In the USA it is common to see old men trying to play being Santa Claus in Christmas Eve, and many of them do it with no money interest, just to arouse the Christmas spirit.
Behind me there is an English girl of Muslim heritage (I also know that because I heard it from her conversation). Well, Yes, I did listen to all she was saying. What else could I have done to spend my free time? You could call me gossip, but now that I am sharing this piece of gossip with you, you will like it, and will be as gossip as I am. This story is about her, I heard it from the conversation she was having with an American couple sitting next to her. Here I share her love story, without her permission.

She has been already 5 years with her boyfriend and she met him by telephone. For those who thought that there was not something crazier than falling in love on line, well I think here I have an excellent example that yes there is.
When she was 20 (now she is 25 years old) she was working selling cell phone services by telephone, for companies like T-Mobile, O2, etc-
Once at work, a friend of her had to call a guy whose last name was difficult to pronounce for her since it seemed to be Indian. Since our main character has Muslim heritage. She was asked to do that phone call, thinking that it was going to be easier for her to talk to that known guy.

When she called him, this sir seemed to be interested in the service offered, but at that right moment he could give his details to finish the acquisition of the service. He asked to be called back later. And that is how our main character did, she called him some hours later but our dear sir was still too busy. Now he asked to be called back on the following day, always, still showing interest in the service offered.
The following day she called him back, but he was still busy. And the same happened for the following 10 days. (Here you can see how insistent can be those telephone-by sellers)

On the morning of day number ten he was still too busy to give her some time and tell her his details, but she was totally tired and annoyed about that delaying situation. And she told him that it was going to be the last day she would call him to offer him the service, they arranged a last call for that night at 8pm as last chance (she chose the time)
As they had arranged, she called him, but he was in a wedding ceremony (she deducted that from the music she could listened to at the back) But she would let this last opportunity to go away from her hands, so made him go to a quiet corner, away from the music and loud noises, so he could give her his details and finally finish with the sale.
It was done like that and apparently everybody ended happy.

On the following day she was informed that the details that were given to her were wrong. She was obviously angry, since it took her about 10 days to get them willing to finish that sale, and at the end he gave him wrong information.
Deep inside her she wanted to know why he did that. She couldn’t resist and just rang to his cell phone from her cell phone.

He called back to the lost number. She didn’t know what to say when she answered, finally said that she miscalled.
He didn’t believe her since her voice was known for him. (After having talked every day in the last 10 days it was easier to recognize her voice)
So, as in all love story from XXI century, he texted her, she texted him back, and text messages were going and coming, and that is how their love began.

At the end they found out that she had written down his last name wrong.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsd7im9pkDZNTzBuGV2LPZsZPNVMhBHU1fi3a-B3eIjt0RV6OAOl8w74qYCOMPzvX4os-TzqzGfiRRX78y0PIEUZRZQdljI2z67ri7p8GDi-pPqOWwEpb7Aw-LTWHuE88k0HqhUtt8Vxg/s320/f477831.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329147450745091042" />

----------------------------------------------------

When the cold and wind came over Madrid, I just didn’t feel them because of their logical natural effects, but also because my body began to behave in a really weird way for me.

At the beginning I was blaming my coat. I think the first time was more than a month ago pressing the button to call the elevator, and that time it was not as strong as it is right now. Then it began happening when opening the metallic door of the elevator, or when opening the metallic door of the building, or when touching any metallic stuff, I was suffering small electrical shocks.

But it is not because of the coat, because inside the office I don’t use it and electricity continues flowing out from my body. Here, I have experimented that when touching, not really wanting, some parts of the laptop, like the USB ports (they have some metal stuffs), or the security fingerprint of it. I have received electricity shock when touching, not really wanting, a screw of the copy machine. It has happened to me when touching walls, which are not concrete walls but those typical walls for offices. And also in those fancy walls used to decorate and make division in the offices, which have some metallic lines.

It is the same if I am entering to the secretary office, or to the copy machine room, or if I go to talk to my boss (there is a metallic small wall division between us), not really wanting, I have to touch something metallic, and the expression of my face with a low cry make people ask what is going on with me.

By now, these electrical shocks are stronger. Once my knuckles and my friend’s crashed when doing some copies. Then when greeting giving my hand to any engineer. Then once when giving a kiss to a friend in her cheek, electricity went out from the boarder of my ear and she received it through her eyebrow, then we could even listen the “crash” sound.

When opening the coffee can there is a metallic cover to pull up. In one hand I had the plastic spoon and in the other one I had this metallic cover. When I was taking out the spoon full of coffee and it was getting closer to the cover in a normal speed, coffee began flying from the spoon to the metallic cover. It was a moment to be filmed and to upload to youtube since it lasted like half a minute, but the emotion and concern didn’t let me do something else but looking at it. The spoon finished with a crazy coffee electrified hair, just as the hair of somebody who has received an electrical shock.

I have tried all, absolutely all the advices that I could find on Internet to solve this issue. Finally I am blaming the weather, and since I am leaving Madrid in four days, it doesn’t worth it to spend time worrying more about it, but I wanted to write it down anyways.

Saludos.

-------------------------------------------------

Who said silence was not listened? Or is it true that sound only exists when there is a been with ears close enough to listen to it? Maybe there are a lot of physics and complex explanations. All I know I written here.

Last Friday we had one more farewell party. It was my roommate’s, Mateja, who won the friendship of everybody in the flat. So that party had to be a really good one, in a really high level. The night finished in an electronic disco named LOW, located in Plaza de los Cubos in Madrid.

The “tunchis tunchis” sound was present the whole night, it was easy to dance and have fun with some alcohol running in our blood, a low roof and big speakers in a non-healthy distance for our ears.

The following morning everybody had that whistle bothering really hard. Everybody was asking everybody to speak lower, or it was even better to stay in our rooms. But it didn’t work either, even in the silence of our bedrooms, which is the place where we can get the best peace, that whistle was in our ears and didn’t let us rest. The sound of the silence was present.

In fact, it was because our ears had been damaged by being so closed to the big and loudly speakers. It is non recommendable, it doesn’t go away that easy, you just stop noticing when you are in a place where the sound is louder than this whistle.

Mateja, be sure that few people will forget that farewell party, for one or any other reason. Cheers and greetings.

----------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today I am happy because the weekend was really interesting.
On Friday we began drinking in the living of our residence, which is the half of the sixth floor of a building next to one of the most important avenues in downtown Madrid (Gran Vía). The avenue that never sleeps.

When the meeting moved to one of the bedrooms which has a balcony on Gran Vía, we don’t know who and when, somebody dropped some beer and it fell on a pedestrian. It became a big problem since police came, and even got into the bedroom.
That same night I met with César who came from Barcelona. I met them in the corner of Fuencarral and Gran Vía, he was with some friend who had come to Madrid to attend a concert of Extremoduro. We walk around, drank some beers in a plaza, and ended in the hall of my building escaping from the cold weather of the streets, waiting for the metro to open at 6 am.

On Saturday I took a nap from 7 pm to 11 pm, woke up and took a quick shower because of Group of friends was going to a disco, but I suffered a Fast change of temperature when crossing the kitchen since there was an open window, and I began shivering. An hour later, when I had recovered my temperature, I went out from other group of friends from my flat and went to a latin disco: El Son. It was a lot of fun, teaching salsa, merengue and bachata to a Finnish and a German girl. I can conclude that I could be a good teacher, or these girls really wanted to learn.

Sunday was really slow, in the afternoon some of us went to Parque del Retiro, a place where groups of people from many countries get together, and play music for fun. It is a place where you can meet a lot of people. I went to bed really early and today I am really fresh at work. Today, just a brief post.

I didn´t choose to live here, it was what the Spain IAESTE guys offered to me and that I accepted since i didn´t know any other place in Madrid, I just trusted on them.
My dad, who had been before in Madrid, gave me big hopes when I told him where i was going to live there. The description He gave me was not close to the reality my eyes saw when i finally arrived there.

From the Barajas airport, to the sky train inside the airport to get to the baggage area, to say hi to Victor who kindly went to pick me up at the airport, and from there to the famous and multifunction Metro of Madrid... With my two big luggage in a "public" transportation service. It was the firt big impression for me, since doing that is really difficult in my lovely city, Lima.

While Victor was explaining me about the Metro and how the various routes worked, I noticed he didn´t know well where we were going. As a result we got off the Metro one station later. We had to walk with my two big luggage through stairs and streets under construction, but my excitment was so big that made me ignore any bothering thing or osbtacle (the luggage). We had to walk some many blocks, with one of the luggage partially broken, but the first impression of the city was still awesome.

A great street, with great classic buildings, with great quantities of people going everywhere, a street with a great environment of having a great history...it was obviously the GREAT STREET /translation of GRAN VIA/ !!!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK9iCnb1iLylyxBVbqhbU6pqmf-25PSB5f9CttT9Hd_R6FA_d6HGki0bUcGOuwoCbjXODCB4uMNxw3tPJ6spt9vLKMiIYcFb5o_tozXUUz1b89DwO56gXY74yG17a795NAomwQdHmuTOc/s320/gran+via+64+4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5659574150496634946" />
It was a wide street in the middle of the city, designed like that from the very beginning many years ago. Where the buildings have decorations in their fronts from the base to the very top, being most of the time decorated by angel statues. Where the classic style of the buildings matches perfectly with the technology of the modern street lights which also produce a sound for blind people to know when to cross the street. A street with many famous theaters where the best plays have taken place since forever in Madrid. Where you get to find as many bars as "casas del jamon" (special store for selling all kind of hams). A street that never sleeps.!!!

I lived in Gran Via 64, 6-izq (izq is the spanish abbreviation for left, so it means that i was in the sixth floor in the apartment on the left side). I had been told that it was a lucky shot living in that street, and I confirmed it when seeing the expression of my spanish co-workers when got to know where i was living. It was a really well located place, in between Plaza España and Callao metro station. From there it was easy to go to Plaza del Sol and El Tigre bar by foot.

I was not lucky for living there for the nice location. I consider that I was really lucky since at the same moment as I got there, awesome people had decided to live a similar experience. That is the most valuable thing of that experience, the great friends I made in those three incredible months. Beside the limitations of the housing, I think that most of us were happy most of the time we lived there. The good vibes for living there were bigger than the difficulties of being far away from our original homes. I got to meet people from many countries as Serbia, Poland, Germany, Italy, England, Panama, Guatemala, Brazil, etc.

I have great memories from having lived in Gran Via 64, and I am pretty sure that it is the same for everybody that once lived there...It even has its own fan page on facebook, haha.Fernando Burneohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08593295358584499959noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2329149872663347188.post-19772367787873229662008-11-02T10:32:00.000-08:002009-03-08T12:55:37.812-07:00Sevilla
He pasado tres fines de semana fuera de Madrid. No he tenido mucho descanso en realidad.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been out of Madrid in the last three weekends. And walking and walking we crossed the Jardines del Prado de San Sebatián, where kind of lost we took pictures with some lost trees. After crossing a closed food and entertainment fair, our common sense and our map took us right to the Gloriosa Plaza de España in Seville.

What a wonderful place!!! From outside you got to see big walls, but behind the big principal door, old stairs take you to some balconies from where you can see a colorful and lively plaza. You feel like going back to the past many centuries ago, and it is easy to imagine how many big meetings took place in such a plaza. It is obvious that we took lots of pictures there. And we walked to every single room that was open to the public.

After Plaza de España we went into Parque de María Luisa. It was a botanic park. It was really big, with old big houses and cascades, a family place, where parents could take their children to ride bicycle with any danger, or to see the birds in the small artificial lakes, or for the couples to ride a carriage pulled by horses. We had a great time trying to take a picture over the branch of a big tree, hahaha, it was really funny.

After lunch, but with any lunch at all in our stomachs, we began walking back to the hostel but at the same time looking for a good place to eat. We were really close to get into some restaurants but none of the convinced us, and I think destiny guided us to the ideal place. On the way back we had to cross again through the Jardines del Prado de San Sebastián, and by that time the food and entertainment fair was already open and full of life. The food fair was quiet big, and if you are looking for good food, and if you have a Peruvian next to you, well Peruvian food must be chosen, wherever you are.

As soon as I realized we were inside a big food fair, i began looking for the Peruvian restaurant. Luckily, the Peruvian restaurant found us, since there was one just right behind us. “The first one goes by my own!”, I told my friends, and let them try a delicious Papa Rellena. Just one try was enough to make them order one for each, obviously it came with a Cusqueña beer. I finished buying a Ceviche so everyone could try too. It was a clear situation to demonstrate that at the distance we appreciate more what is ours. All of them finished loving Peruvian food. In the following days I made them try some other Peruvian dishes.

In the afternoon, alter having refreshed and rested a little bit in the hostel, we headed to the other side of the city, always walking. Going up <st1:street st="on"><st1:address st="on">San Fernando street</st1:address></st1:street>, walking next to the tram, we walked through the Puerta de Jerez and arrived to, for me, was the entrance to the most beautiful place in Seville: The Reales Alcázares.

For me, if i knew more about it, I would write a whole post about that place. What a wonderful place, extremely huge, and different beautiful architectures, and an amazing big garden. I think one day was not enough to walk and see all of it, or even not enough to get lost in the maze of bushes built in the garden. And finish resting under the trees watching the peacocks walking around you. The best of all is that as a student you can see all this for free.

Going out from Reales Alcázares, forced by the guards because it was late and they were closing, we went to the Cathedral of Seville. It was beautiful from outside, since we couldn’t get into because it was already close because of the time. We decided to continue walking, some went into some other place, while Filip and me, tired for having walked so much, went straight to a bar and asked for a beer. And seems like the good luck was still with us, because the beer was perfect, adding that we had some gypsy music being played in there. Marlit, Mateja and Urs joined us to order the second glass.

Back in the hostel, we decided to begin our party night at the terrace, drinking some Spanish beer and playing the countering game in Spanish (since most of us didn’t have Spanish as the main language, just me).

Up in the terrace, we met Ilse, a Dutch girl, who was working in Barcelona for a season, and was taking some days off to travel to other cities in Spain. Some days later we would join with her in Madrid.

Now with one more member in the group, almost matching, we did what the receptionist recommended to us, and look for a place where gipsy music was being placed.

The room was really hidden, most of the people that were inside were tourist and all of them were really focused on the show. We arrived just on time to see a performance from the very beginning and as always I took out my camera and began recording.

A lot of passion in the singing, a lot of rhythm in the guitar and a lot of strength in the dancing, energy was easily felt in the room. Luckily I did record it all since at the end I was told that it was prohibited to record.

That day was really full of activities, we were happy and like this we went to sleep.

The following day, we obviously woke up quiet late, but it let us meet Ilse again and to know Zeina, an Australian girl who was traveling around the world.

When we finished a good breakfast under the sun and seating our peaceful terrace, we went out to continue looking for more places. We went straight to the Cathedral since the day before we couldn’t get into. Since it was Sunday we had to say that we wanted to listen to the mass since they didn’t let tourist get in during the mass, but it was uncontrollable, everybody was taking pictures inside the Cathedral while some others were listening to the mass on other side.

The Cathedral was really majestic, big and with many small details. We had to seat some minutes to listen to the mass, but the rest of the time we were walking around where it was allowed and took as many pictures as they let us take.

Going out from the Cathedral, a flamenco performance caught out eyes. Like real innocent tourists we stood next to the rest of the people to see the strength of the dance. And as real innocent tourist Ilse and me were caught by gypsy girls. Without asking for permission one of them caught my hand, put a small plant on it and began speaking. I and Ilse were separated and they were doing the same to her. Both of us were told the same story, they even told us that we were getting married in a close future and we were going to have children, incredible since we knew each other no more than a day. I didn’t say a word, and I acted like if I didn’t speak Spanish at all, since I was imagining that they were going to ask me for some money. When I answered in English she made a sign to me so I should give her some money, so I gave her 3 euros. She even got a little bit angry and claimed to me telling me that the fare was 10 euros, that everybody would pay that amount. I was still a non-spanish-speaker, so like this I didn’t have to pay the rest of the “fare”. Ilse finally paid 5 euros. At end we were laughing since we were practically married in the gypsy way.

Then, walking along the river, we got to the Plaza de Toros of Seville, and took a tour to know more about the bullfighting history of that city. It was kind of interesting, and made us feel hungry so we went looking for a restaurant where to have lunch. I will difficult forget about the place we finally chose for lunch since they didn’t give us what we paid for, but anyways, things that happen in a trip.

In the afternoon we went to the hostel, took a fast shower and went out straight to the bus station since we had to arrive to Madrid that same night, before the subway closed, it means before midnight.

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=173310&id=502435430&op=6
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=175036&id=502435430&op=6

Y oh sorpresa no estaba mi mochila.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A new trip, but this time I went outside the boarders of Spain. With my cousin still travelling in this side of the world, I took the advantage to go to Sesimbra-Portugal too, to know and spend some days with some relatives from my grandmother’s side.

First, for those who say it is cheap to travel by plane inside Europe, let me tell you are right and wrong at the same time. The cheapest flights are in days and hours when few people can travel, I mean any day but weekends. That is the reason why I went to Lisbon by bus.

Lisbon is 7 hours away from Madrid by bus, and for not suffering almost nothing i bought my ticket in one of the most famous bus companies of Spain: ALSA company. I had already travelled through this company to Oviedo the past week to Oviedo, but at this time I was about to do an international trip. I was just carrying my backpack, which I could easily take with me in the upper side, but the driver didn’t give another choice than putting it in the luggage compartment.
I took out some important stuff, never too confident, with that sixth sense that you can get by living in Perú, and the driver assigned a numbered ribbon to my backpack, and put a sticker with the same number on my ticket.

In a bus of 50 people, we just travelled 11. I am not a racist at all, but I have to mention that at least 6 were black guys, I will explain later the reason why I remark this.
The trip was really quiet, since the enough room in the bus, I took two seats to be more comfortable, I had departed from Madrid at 4 pm, so there was a lot to see of the landscape during the trip, beside that I finish reading the book Nelson asked me to give to his friend Lorena. “The tricks of the bad girl” is a book of Mario Vargas Llosa, and was a good distraction in the first weeks in Madrid when I didn’t have a laptop yet, and it was also a good distraction in this trip to Lisbon.

Of the 7 hours the trip lasted, i was awaken the first 5, reading, listening to music, or looking at the landscape, noticing the change of language in the advertisements, the interference of Spanish and Portuguese radio stations, and the use of the Portuguese in most of the people in the last stop we did inside Spain. After that stop, I could sleep until my final destiny, which was Sete Ritos bus station in Lisbon.

When i arrived, i could see from inside the bus that outsider were waiting for me uncle Rodolfo, aunt Marilia and my cousin Daniel. I went out of the bus, greeted them and went for my backpack. And oh surprise, there was no fernando´s backpack. Obviously I went to claim to the driver, since at that hour (11:30 pm) all the offices were closed. And besides that he was the only responsible of my backpack because he insisted me to put it in the luggage compartment. All the driver could do at that hour was giving me the name and the phone number of a guy from the company, grab and scratch his head and lame himself for not taking the time to get down the bus and check for every luggage people was picking up. And it is very common here that when the bus gets to a station, the bus driver just opens the luggage compartment pushing a bottom from inside, the passengers who have to stay at that station go down the bus and they are supposed to pick up just their luggage. I think they are just to confident because it is a first world country ???
The driver’s explanation was that for sure one station before 3 black people got out the bus, and they must have gotten “confused”, since there was one backpack left that wasn’t mine. But he just remarked he was almost sure of that, since that kind of “confusion” usually happens to black people. And it was not obviously a confusion; the left backpack was really old and just had a bottle of water and some bread, while mine had all my necessary belongings for two days out of home.

At that moment there was not too much that could be done. So I just had to get rid of the anger caused by the driver’s incompetence, and be happy because I had arrive healthy to visit my family and with hope that everything would turn better the following day

It was not a crowded and loudly welcome, it was a really good welcome. Sesimbra is 20 minutes away by car from Lisbon, and it was the time I had to wait for my already mentioned really good welcome. There was a huge dish of Cozido à Portuguesa waiting just for me inside the microwave, just on time cause I hadn’t had lunch. I ate and chatted with my uncle and aunt for about an hour inside the kitchen, while Daniel felt asleep in the living watching television.

On Saturday, i woke up early for two reasons: my not good custom of waking up at 6 am for work, because I hadn’t greeted my cousin Xana and her husband, who I will just meet.
Even though I was still feeling full with the welcome dinner, I couldn’t deny a good breakfast around 9 am, with Xana, Nuno, Rodrigo (their son) and Daniel

Uncle Rodolfo and aunt Marilia appeared around 11 am, and with some surprises for me, with some clothe for at least two days. At that moment I didn’t know how to thank them since I had already arrived some hours ago. And the surprise was bigger when they said we were going shopping later.

We were ready after midday and went for lunch to a small restaurant, where the plates are huge. This lunch was much bigger than the really good welcome dinner of the night before. I was given a Costeleta de Novilho with Arroz de Feijão and Ovo estrelado, and Arroz Doce as a desert. It was really good, with some beers and a special drink for the end. I must mention that people from this town have the custom of drinking wine, but my cousin and I ended drinking beer.

After such a great lunch, we went shopping, as promised and warned by aunt Marilia. We went to two places one bigger than the other and with good offerings everywhere. Now I can tell that prices in Portugal and better than in Spain, but I think salaries are also lower. That is how economy works around the world.

My cousin Xana had done a reservation for dinner in a seafood restaurant. I still remember that my cousin did the reservation for 8:30 pm, and my uncle Rodolfo wasn’t sure we could do it by that time because shopping with girls always takes more time than expected. After a rainy moment followed by a nice sunny moment, we started our way back to Sesimbra imagining how dinner would be, and listening to some English music on CIDADE FM radio. A big difference between Spain and Portugal is that the last one is more open to foreign customs, like music, mainly from USA, while the first one is too faithful to its music and custom. Both position have good and bad things.

The dinner was a real Big-Family order. Two pots of Portuguese Arroz con Mariscos (Shellfish with rice). A little bit different than the one cooked in Peru, but it was also good. Although we were given a tough challenge by finishing all the food, Daniel and I couldn’t get it when we were totally full and satisfied. The two pots came with bottles of water (the healthier people in the restaurant) to begin and “make some room”, and then many glasses of cairpirinhas and caipirãos came too, we also had a glass of “green wine”. This cup has to be heated before so the wine can be well tasted.

After having played with Car Racing Simulators and some ping pong, on the way back to the house, we went for a night walk to Sesimbra Beach, getting an idea of how was the night life during summer, and that this cold weather was closing it slowly. Back at home we didn’t have many options for what to do, I think we only had one: sleeping.

The following day i wanted and got to wake up early, and like this i Could go to Sesimbra Beach with uncle Rodolfo, but this time during a sunny day and with enough time to enjoy of it.
In brief the beach is really nice, a total exclusivity to be just 2 minutes away by car. Even though it was already fall, the sun was really shiny. I will have the opportunity to go back in summer time and with more time and then I will tell you a lot more for sure.

Sunday lunch was prepared by Xana, who prepared a delicious Bacalhau á bras (Roasted Codfish). Moscatel of Sesimbra was the drink of the day.

I will merely mention that that in this two days there was a chain of bad luck events that don’t worth to list. In fact, there were too many bad luck events for just two days, and I think it all began with the lose of my backpack. I don’t have any news about the complaint I did to the company.
None of those bad luck events was serious, and for sure they were solved, and I just write about them to remember that it was them who give the spicy touch to my days in Portugal.

I couldn’t know Lisbon, but that forces me to go back in the future with more time and a new backpack

As in the two days before, my cousin and my aunt gave me enough food for my trip back to Madrid. Thank all of you for the kindness and generosity offered to my cousin Daniel and me.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJOm2keS3wfv0G1mB-BVTS2xblsBiIUQk3zZc0jspQi6jmBPRX9EqS9CJGVbIE07NmGlJibcGsKhMPeDO_10RlbbWUmPXw_C1pX4n-hrG5OQkH1ERPVoyWR3EIET75LoaBoh03nOm0wzo/s320/Imagen+060.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269592837239337426" />
Sesimbra

Pequeño restaurante grandes platos / Small restaurant, huge plates

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7WMjgiecMSbYZiaXNUBhptODCugMn51X140BdOS99EVwJcWKDdvYjABDCos21vGdUhZoTKKslCjoNOaFo9LaLTaLjswfIO9gT88sso1pJjEMI7aflmzYeddxDX-zWiycB3KMmJclpqus/s320/Imagen+062.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269593077608833058" />

Las dos fuentes de Arroz con Mariscos / The two pots of Shellfish with rice

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH3wAxcuDMhUgDOEAQUyJCUfIq6uZHrdlx6a2Q1eNiS2UC23R0Q1j0wbc8_438naYmY7zU854igslq30kjq7XO3d9kZQZQOyahyviERYB1AX6rJ9elJm7Efb-VmH8Dnmv6dZanG057Q6k/s320/Imagen+100.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269593598435964786" />

Allí me esperaban Daniel y Fiorella.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Excuse me for the delay, but as you will see in the next posts, i have been using my weekends to travel inside and outside Spain.
Almost a month ago I went to Oviedo in the Asturias region (Principality of Asturias) in the north of Spain, taking the advantage at the opportunity that my cousin Daniel was taking some vacations and was visiting his cousin Fiorella.

Like every Friday i finished work at 2 pm, since the morning i came to work with my backpack ready, to go straight to the bus station after work. I travelled by bus since 4 pm till 11 pm, when I arrived to Oviedo and got out of the bus at the station “La Gesta”. Daniel and Fiorella were waiting for me there.

It was a really generous welcome, since i had a delicious plate of Seco de Chabelo (special dish from the north of Perú), a big piece of Causa Rellena and a good conversation with them until 1 am. When we decided to go out and see the town at night.

After knowing the main streets, squares and buildings, Daniel and I went and went to find some music and dancing. We went to some bars and some discos with really “original” names like: Blue and Green. Personally I recommend everybody who will go to Oviedo to go and have fun at Green disco, good music and nice environment.

The following day we woke up later than planned, and it was because Fiorella had closed the blind of the windows and it kept the room totally dark, which made us think that the sun hasn’t risen up yet. We were ready around midday, ready to go for lunch.

Daniel had rented a car and with Fiorella we went to Cudilleros, passing through Avilés and El Pito. This last place is a town with a really weird name, since El Pito means, as almost everybody knows, The Dick.
Cudilleros is a nice port town, narrow streets and colourful buildings. There I could try a Pastel de Cabracho and Chipirones a la plancha (these last ones were very similar to grilled calamari), everything really fresh, just taken from the sea. I could also touch the Bay of Biscay and feel the breeze of the sea after almost two months.
That afternoon, back in Oviedo, we went to have an incredible lunch in a really interesting and Asturian restaurant.

In Asturias, and I suppose in the north part of Spain, the most famous drink is the Cider.
It is made of apples that ferment in big kegs and it is served in green bottles. At TIERRA ASTUR restaurant they use the empty big kegs to set the tables inside, and the green empty bottles are hanging from the roof as part of the decoration.
The jars of cider come with “boards” of many kind of food. We first asked of a Board of Cheese, different kind of Cheese, all of the really good. Then came a Board of Tortos, something like smooth cookies with different things on top, and at the end the principal dish was a Crivencar Board, different kind of meat, sausages and French fries. It was enough food to satisfy the six of us: Fiorella, Pablo (her husband), two friends of them, Daniel and I. After it we were just talking and thinking about drinking cider because it was really hot outside.

After that we had a nap of around 6 hours, because we had eaten too much and because of the tiredness from the last night. Then at night we went to El Asturiano bar, which used to be famous between Erasmus students (I have already explained this before), known because the owner of this bar has travelled to many countries around the world, drinking a lot of beers and in his bar he shows the collection of beer cans he has been bringing from each of this trips. There was something wrong, since he didn’t have any can of a Peruvian beer, but that has turned into a mission so next time I will give him as a gift a can of a Cusqueña or a Pilsen.

At night, we went to discos and bars, until our bodies asked for some rest. The following Sunday there were more reasons to wake up late, and we couldn’t see the Sunday open market close to Fiorella´s flat. We just got ready and just had time to go and have lunch in a Chinese restaurant.

That afternoon we went to see a modern mall, that from Fiorella’s words (translated to the English obviously), “ seems to be taken from the Star Wars movies”. And it was really like that, since didn’t had any relation with the architecture of Oviedo City. It is really big and imposing, appreciated when seen with architect eyes.

Some things I learnt from Oviedo:
- The Cathedral of Oviedo, which full name is “The Cathedral of San Salvador of Oviedo”, gothic and renaissance building, is famous because it only has one tower from the two that were designed originally. The construction of the second tower couldn’t be done since money from Roma never arrived to Oviedo. It was sent many times but was taken or stolen in the middle of the trip. And after some time no more money was sent for the conclusion of it, and the cathedral remained with just one tower.
- The current princess of Spain, Letizia, is from the Asturias region.
- The worldwide known Princes of Asturias Award is given in this city.
- Fernando Alonso, two-times world champion of Formula One, was born in this city.
- The Spanish revolution to get the independence from the Muslims began in the Asturias region around year 700. At the end, when the independence was almost gotten, turned famous this phrase that was supposed to be said by Aixa to her son Boabdill after he lost Granada in front the Catholics: “Don’t cry as a woman what you couldn’t defend as a man”.
- Oviedo received the Silver Broom Award because of the notorious cleanness that can be seen in the whole city. Every night you can see cleaning cars washing the streets especially from the downtown.
- It is a town designed and built for the pedestrians, just like Woody Allen said one time.

Today, after almost a month of my trip to Oviedo, I took a time and forced my memory to write down all those small details so you have an idea how it was, and so I don’t forget about this ever.
Here in Madrid is cold, every morning when I go out from my apartment it is 2-Celsius degrees, and we have already changed to the winter time.
I have been here a month and a half, and the time goes on and there is a lot to tell from each day but few time to write it down.
Greetings to my friend Allison Martin, I have just noticed she also has a blog dedicated to animals, so check it out every time you can.
Take care.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg213eT0iKJKZofXmCKxpCPyQozEBfabGMQDKGEEMt_dG9U9rGkvMaA9tVaCiEmiLWho1MS6KROpR_1wueVvbqra4ow9yCQeOHXl3ihZauuFRJtYwuS0ASAUmftAU7YUExThrYh3EwaHmw/s320/060421_CATEDRAL%5B1%5D.3.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264715645528190610" />

La Catedral de Oviedo / The Cathedral of Oviedo

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZgbueo0goohtK9m8yxDimJAsEngD38at-GsX8EpYLtB8cxrkvUf4OSZCls2Yl06i42OkkwHdoHs2gDfAvbAcyZB_LoasBjtDI5VeiBY6n62sRZlLFfgGx5qGQz_omx0qU1Jsd7XPz0qg/s320/Imagen+040.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264717045664210514" />

Tierra Astur restaurant

The most played song we listened in the discos of Oviedo.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It doesn’t matter the country, the life of a foreign student is almost the same. At least I am able to tell you a little bit about this kind of life in Madrid.

Eventhough i finished school last December, being a trainee forces me to have the life of a foreign student.

For the people who thought i was coming here for some vacations, well i am sad to tell you we were all wrong. It doesn’t matter I came with a tourist visa and just for three months, spending 10 hours a day in a office, sitting in front of a laptop, having work to do and using my brain don’t let me be a good tourist. Even worst since I have to wake up at 6 am from Monday to Friday and I cant be back home before 7 pm, just willing to change my clothes and be more comfortable

Living as a student in a residence like the ones you can find in Gran Via street means walking at least twice a week to any of the minimarkets like : Lidl, Sol, Dia and Simply, which are known for the low prices they have since they have a poor customer service.
And having bought just the basic stuff to survive we have to walk some blocks to go back home. Something really interesting from here, or well from students, is that we all go with our backpacks to the markets, since the plastics bags are sold and also because we buy too many things that are too heavy to carry by the hands. Here we basically use the metros and buses to go to work or to parties.

Something really characteristic from Madrid is the supermarket El Corte Inglés (yeah, eventhough the name is soooo english, it is everywhere in Spain). Since the stores are so big, I think they should build their own buildings just for them, but they just use the first floors of old buildins. Buildings everywhere, I haven’t seen any typical and normal house. Somebody told me: as Madrid grows up, Lima grows to the sides. We just go to this kind of supermarkets when it is an emergency or when we just need to buy few stuffs. A couple of weeks ago I found a typical small market at the back of my building, since then I have been trying to go and take a look of it but my busy life doesn’t let me do it.

Living in a residence is really interesting, maybe just for some months and not for whole life, but it will always be interesting. For sure you need some luck to have really cool housemates, but I think all of them come to have fun and to meet new people, with good and positives energies. Here we share the room, the living room, the kitchen and the bathrooms. Fortunately there is always somebody who comes to clean all the shared areas. We need to pay attention and take the laundry machine whenever it gets free, and sometimes we need to deal with the fact of finding dirty dishes from the day before. But after all I think everything can work really well, we just need to spend most of the time outside or sleeping in your bedroom.

Here in Europe you will find students from different programs, the most famous is the Erasmus and well I need to talk about my program too: IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience). Spain is chosen by many students from the Eastern Europe since this is the only country in Europe where they can learn Spanish.

I think after this short description you can have a better idea of the life style I am having since a month ago.

Pierdolnout go mwotek
Siekierka dobiwa
I kotka zabiwa

Chau chau spierdalay!!!

Even with this hot weather i did sleep well yesterday, after had lived my first weekend in this city that doesnt sleep. We went to a free rave in the streets and had the “opportunity” to see Spanish young people having fun in their way… haha, will I get to understand how open minded people is here ? After all everything was ok, really quiet and I did recover some energies, since during the week I couldn’t do it.

I really like tose cities where it rains but it is not cold. That is how my day began, wearing my suit, standing and covering under a bus stop, waiting for the company bus, everything was still dark, and a homeless sleeping in the bench close to me. Even though this is a developed city you can find everything here too. I was standing under the roof of the bus stop, listening to some music, watching the rain fall and not reaching me. By the time my bus arrived, the man in the bench was still sleeping.

Once in the office i was told that it had been a night with a lot of action in this city: we had an electric storm. There were some places affected. I didn’t really noticed it, not a sound. I knew it was going to rain because I had seen the weather channel, but never thought it would be like that.
I have my umbrella still in my suitcase, ready to be used, but since i have never used one, it is going to take some time to decide to use it Mateja and Marlit smiled when I told them I was excited on Sunday, when I was walking around the streets and saw people using their umbrellas, while I was just with my t-shirt., enjoying the rain. Marlit will teach me how to use the umbrella, I mean, use it with styleeee. :D

There are some many things i have learnt by living with people from so many countries, the most unimaginable tongue breakers and songs, slang and cheering phrases, etc etc.

Here, a song in polish (it shouldn’t be written like that, but there are some polish letters i don’t have in this computer)

Wlazt kotek na pwotek
Pierdolnout go mwotek
Siekierka dobiwa
I kotka zabiwa

Next time I will give u the translation and maybe the video.

I already got a cell phone: (34)-622488254.

Chauu

------------------------------------------------

Heeeeey, Hi everybody. Finally i did it to Madrid without problems three days ago. I have just adapted to the difference of hours today.

The flight was better than i thought, maybe because i slept during almost all the time.

there was a small delay to aboard in Lima, so it finished in a not nice desorder, that made people get a little bit angry before boarding ( Mila this is for you :D ). But everything was good inside the plane, confortable and good service. Then i could finally sleep at 7 am, after being awaken more than 23 hours. I felt sooo asleep that i couldnt even wake up to receive my breakfast, which i had to ask for an hour later.

Once in Miami, it was easy to move my luggage to my next flight, it was immediatelly i got off the plane. So i could walk around miami airport very light, just with my backpack, but always inside de airport, since it was really hot outside, so hot that it could be felt just by passing close to any door. I proved that it is a big lie when people say that they come to miami to learn spanish , OHH WHAT A BIG LIE !!. Around the 98% of the population speaks spanish there. Since the blondiest to the darkest. I cant say too much about this city since i just stayed inside the airport, with out car and time it was difficult to even get to the highway. After being mentally decided that i was in miami, you know, eating pizza and having free refill, i took my plane to Madrid at 6 pm on sunday.

Being in Madrid was exciting since i got off the plane, incredible !! The Barajas airport is HUGE, so huge that you have to take a metro ( subterranean train ) to move from one place to another. I will upload some pics and videos soon.
Then the trip to go from the airport to my home was also by metro, which was easy considering i was with my big two suitcases. Hopefully i had Victor's help, a guy from Iaeste España. Doing such a trip in public transportation with big suitcases in lima is impossible. That kind of transportation is so practical, i havent learnt how to use them well, but doesnt seem to be difficult.

So, i did it safe, i am staying in a big apartament in one of the main streets of Madrid ( Gran Vía 64, sexta izquierda ). A place for people who live temporaly in Madrid for studying. Some of them stay here for some weeks, some months or some years. People is coming and going frequently. But it seems i am lucky and there are many guys that are staying here for the same period i am, so i may have a nice family in these months.
I live with people from many countries: Germany, Cyprus, Poland, England, Nicaragua, Panama y Spain. So i mainly speak english at home.
So this new life is just beginning (it is supposed to be temporal) in madrid, a really cosmopolotan city. Days will pass.
ByeFernando Burneohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08593295358584499959noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2329149872663347188.post-74449593990638851482008-09-11T21:54:00.000-07:002008-10-13T15:25:39.615-07:00Vou deixar

Vou deixar a vida me levar
Pra onde ela quiser
Estou no meu lugar
Vou deixar a vida me levar
Pra onde ela quiser
Seguir a direção
De uma estrela qualquer
É não quero hora pra voltar não
Conheço bem a solidão
Me solta
E deixa a sorte me buscar

----------------------------------

Me suelta
Y deja que la suerte me busque

-------------------------------------------

I will let life to take me
wherever she wants
I am in my place
she knows where it is
Dont count the time for the both of us
Since i can be back any time
After the night finishes
I will let life to take me
wherever she wants
Follow a direction of any star
I dont want a time to be back, i dont
I know very well, loneliness
releases me
and lets life to take meFernando Burneohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08593295358584499959noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2329149872663347188.post-62574318630852074292008-08-30T21:01:00.000-07:002008-09-02T17:54:44.434-07:00Sin fronteras / No BoundariesHablando geográficamente, en estos momentos, prácticamente tengo acceso a todo el mundo.

--------------------------------------------------------

Geographycally, right now, i have access to almost the entire world. In the last weeks my life and my destiny had a 180º round. ( To exagerate i would give a higher number, but there is the risk to be back to the initial point, you know this confusing stuff of the circular angles.. etc etc , hehe )

Until two weeks ago the spanish visa had been denied to me, and the best academic-professional opportunity i have had in the last years seemed to be far far. Like i said before, i was decided to go until the end with this, because it seemed to me to be an unfair decision taken by the Spanish Embassy, so i appealed against that decision.
That way, last week they called me home at night, and on tuesday i had the Schengen visa in my passport. Excellent!!. Access to all the Schengen comunity ( Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy, etc etc, just to mention the most important countries). It was the last piece in this puzzle for my international internship to become reality. I am right now ready and really happy.

But after that , something even better came for me. In order to travel to Europe and to avoid expending too much money in my flight ticket, i had to go through USA. I applied for the transit US visa, since it was easier to get than the tourist one, because with the transit visa they don't let you get out of the airport, and i think they don`t even let you get out of the international area, keeping you in a room with a guard outside, while you wait for your next flight.
The lady that was before me in the line, got the visa denied, and i got something even better than what i was requesting. They gave me the tourist US visa for 10 years with multiple entrances. ( sounds good right ?) hahaha. So, right now i have access to half of the world, but i dont have enough money to go and visit that half of the world.

I bought my flight ticket last friday. I will say bye to Perú on Saturday september 13th. On sunday 14th my flight departs from Lima at 6 am, and it will arrive to Miami at midday. Six hours later i will be taking another flight heading to Madrid, where i will arrive at 9 am of the following day. Doing some maths seems to be a lot of hours right?? , well dont forget i am flying in the same direction the planet is spinning to.

The plan for the next 8 months is not defined yet. I am dreaming about traveling to so many countries in Europe and then to go to so many cities in USA. I will be writing here how my plans define as days pass through and as i get along with european lifestyle.Fernando Burneohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08593295358584499959noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2329149872663347188.post-62798496834344433852008-08-22T18:33:00.000-07:002008-11-04T05:50:17.699-08:00y que si.... / what if ...

.........................

You can´t live your life from future possible events, and it doesnt worth to analize possible events from the past, both just occupy your mind and don´t let you live the present.
I know i am basically too prudent or cautious, i mean, i analize too much how future would be if i do this or that. I know i live almost always paying attention to the future events. But i have learnt that it is not good to pay attention to future events in every field of your life.

It is good to feel happy when bringing memories from the past, and feed future hopes with those memories. It is good to fill yourself with ilussions, but reality should be present too when doing that.

And in every field of your life when you consider future possibilities, feelings will be always involved... we are human beens. But rationals too, homo sapiens, so that is why many times to keep going forward and stop dreaming with the ilussions and future possible events, our rational self slaps us to react.

Long time ago a girl friend told me that she liked to live her life without planning it, day by day, while i used to plan it almost everything at that time. I am glad i had that conversation in that year, so since then i have tried to share my life with planned activities and non-planned activities, and like that i am getting realy good things.

Advice : Don´t live from the past. Get inspiration from illusions and possible future events, but don´t let them rule your life, don´t live dreaming.
¿ if some day you might get it ?... ¿ what are you doing to get it and what are you doing meanwhile?
¿ If some day you will see him/her again ?... ¿ what are you doing to see him/her again and what are you doing meanwhile ? ¿ Living from memories ?

Maybe not everybody will agree with this flash light post. But it can be a good advice for many, it is and advice for me too.Fernando Burneohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08593295358584499959noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2329149872663347188.post-84648339186111561182008-08-13T16:44:00.000-07:002008-08-13T17:04:12.368-07:00VisaInicialmente no quería elaborar una entrada hoy. No tengo ganas realmente.

----------------------------

At the very beginning i didnt really want to write a post today. In fact, i dont feel like posting today. Yesterday i received the sad new that the Spanish Embassy was denying me the visa...... enough reasons to feel sad, right ??. But i dont feel beaten, i will do something else because i know my request is fair. I can't lose the opportunity to do an internship in an international company. I can't let somebody else, who doesn't know my real intentions, make a decision against my interests, just because "she" ( because it was a girl who interviewed me )may think i want to stay in Spain. Ohh come on !! no i don't want to.

But , don't feel sad yet. Don't feel sad because i may stay or because i may continue trying to travel. No room for sadness, i had taken this into consideration since the beginning, that is why i haven't broken crying , no yet :D. I am ok.

Finally , i decided to post something today, an informative post, just because my friend Cesar ( he studies in Spain ) had posted something new today. And it made me feel my circle of blogger friends is growing and growing , getting into more activity.

It was a tough day too, writing this kind of papers is not easy. But the day is almost over , and this post is totally over.Fernando Burneohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08593295358584499959noreply@blogger.com1
